Fitness Friday/VO2 Max & Sport Testing June 9th, 2023 1-5pm
Dave from Befit will be available for peak VO2 testing at DeWitt PT this Friday.
This exercise test is the gold standard in measuring cardiovascular capacity and metabolic function. Dave is one of the few ACSM certified clinical exercise physiologists to use Moxy muscle oxygen saturation monitors in conjunction with respiratory gas analysis.
Data from the Moxy can help determine whether muscular strength, cardiovascular output, or pulmonary function is a primary limiter in exercise performance.
From this test you will also learn:
Peak VO2 and relative cardiovascular fitness
Energy expenditure in Kcals at all heart rates
Zones and thresholds including “Zone 2”, “Fat Max”, and anaerobic threshold
Physiological limiters and compensators
How is this all determined?
After passing a participant risk screening, athletes can choose either a treadmill or assault bike to execute a step exercise test. Participants are asked to go very hard but not all out. The test takes between 9-20 mins in total duration.
You can choose either VO2 Max testing with Dave from BeFit and/or Return to Sport Testing (FMS, Y-Balance and Hop Testing with report)/Functional Sport Testing (FMW, Y-Balance and Functional Capacity Screening with report) with Ryan DeWitt, PT.
