Masters in Physical Therapy (MPT)
Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS)
CrossFit Level 2 Trainer (CF-L2)
Ryan, a native of Santa Cruz, opened DeWitt Physical Therapy in 2011 to provide the community with physical therapy services that bridge the gap between rehabilitation and sports performance and meet the needs of our active community. As a life-long athlete, physics geek, and gym rat, physical therapy was the perfect fit.
He graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Master’s in Physical Therapy in 2004 and became a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2008. To compliment his interest in Physical Therapy with Strength & Conditioning, he holds additional certifications as an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), NASM Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES), Selective Functional Movement Assessment Professional (SFMA 1 & 2), Functional Movement Screen Certified Professional (FMS), a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer (CF-L2), and a United States Weightlifting Level 1 Coach (USAW-L1), and opened CrossFit UP as a part of DeWitt Physical Therapy’s expansion in 2013.
He enjoys working with active individuals of all levels, from weekend warriors to professional athletes, and has a special interest in integrating wellness and recovery concepts to improve everything from quality of life to sports performance. He is also actively involved in mentoring and developing physical therapists and coaches to help our patients and members reach their potential.
Ryan lives in Pleasure Point with his wife and kids and can be found surfing and drinking coffee in and around the East Side of Santa Cruz.
