Getting 1% Better - The Power of Incremental Progress
Getting 1% Better - The Power of Incremental Progress
Small changes over time can lead to big results. So it's important to put our energy into what will move the needle towards our long term goals, even if it doesn't seem meaningful in the moment.
We often underestimate the power of incremental improvement, as we tend to want to see a significant short term change as a society. But it's the time spent getting better at the basics, stacking little wins, and learning/growing/building that lead to long term success and the tangible achievement of a long standing goal. This is true in life, school, business - and even in PT.
Here, Ryan DeWitt, PT, talks about the power of incremental progress in reaching goals in PT, and for setting the appropriate mindset around measuring and perceiving progress. It's important to stay encouraged for sure, and the partnership developed between the PT and patient is what will keep everyone on track in order to reach collective goals.
