K2 and CFUP Continuum
K2 and CFUP Continuum
At CrossFit UP, we offer both our CrossFit Group Training Program and our new proprietary K2 Performance program.
While they are both "Strength and Conditioning" programs, our K2 program is created to mirror some of the movements and stimulus of our CF UP program, albeit with exceptions.
That being said, we don't want our members to think that they are 2 completely separate programs - while in fact, they are a part of a continuum of fitness options that we offer at CF UP. And based on how you want to participate in and experience your fitness, you can be fluid in participating in both our K2 and CF UP Program.
Said another way, while for K2 we've taken out the high skill gymnastics and olympic weightlifting movements that are synonymous with CrossFit, the relative movements will be similar for the same day of training.
If our CF program has squats in it, there will likely be squats in our K2 program, that way if you do K2 on Monday and a CF Class on Tuesday, you won't run the risk of doubling up on movements unnecessarily.
We believe this will allow our members to fluidly participate in both programs based on how they're feeling that day, or not miss out on a movement stimulus if their schedule isn't compatible with one program or another throughout the week.
So, the take home message is that they are similar and complimentary programs - so if you're a seasoned CrossFitter, don't hesitate to jump into a K2 class. And if you normally go to K2 classes and want to try CrossFit - talk to a coach and see what your best option is to be able to participate in CF classes regularly (we require FUNdamentals for all athletes new to CF training).
Let's all fitness together!
